How to come to Grenoble

  • By Air : Grenoble is served by three airports: [Lyon Saint-Exupery> http://www.lyon.aeroport.fr ], Grenoble / Saint-Geoire and Geneva / Cointrin . Regular shuttles provide connections between these three airports and bus station in Grenoble, near the TGV railway station (Gare-Europole). The travel time between the airport and Grenoble is about 1 hour (after 1:30 at least 2 hours for the Geneva. See site ).
  • By Train : The TGV runs directly to Grenoble from Paris (Gare de Lyon)
  • By Car : From Paris take the A6 motorway to Lyon, then A43 and A48 motorway, head towards Grenoble and Chambéry direction and finally exit Domaine Universitaire on the "Ring Road" South.

  • By Tram : From the railway station (Gare-Europole) take tram line B, direction Gières Plaine des Sports to stop Gabriel Fauré or University Libraries (TAG Website) .
  • By Car : Follow the "Ring Road South" and exit at Campus 1: Domaine Universitaire-Gières. Finally, take the "rue de la Papèterie", then "rue de la Piscine".

Getting around Grenoble

The most convenient transportation system in Grenoble is tram, of which two lines (B and C) reach the university campus. Lines are color-coded, green for B and purple for C.

Beware though: for the tram, tickets must be purchased on the platform, before getting in the tram. Automatic ticket machines are present for this at each stop but acan be easily pourchased online too.
